Decent, but could be clearer for newbies

Using Glide to build a quick app was pretty straightforward, kinda like how I felt first using Airtable. Connecting Google Sheets worked well for my Role Based Access Control project, which is a big plus. My main gripe is that finding clear info on how to best integrate things, or if there are promo codes, was a bit of a hunt. The documentation could use some better examples for connecting different features, and comparing it to something like Bubble, it feels a little less intuitive for specific setups.

Airtable Sync is a lifesaver for my small business

I've been using Glide for a few months now, and the Airtable Sync feature has made managing my inventory so much easier. I create my product lists in Airtable, and they just appear in my Glide app, which saves me a ton of time. I also looked into their Slack Integration, which seems useful for team communication. I was hoping for a promo code to upgrade, but it seems those are pretty hard to come by unless you're part of a special program. One thing I'd love to see improved is offline functionality; right now, if my internet cuts out, I can't access my app, which is a minor inconvenience when I'm out and about.

Really impressed with Glide!

I've been playing around with different no-code tools like Bubble and Softr for a while, trying to build a custom dashboard for my small business. Glide Pages is super intuitive and I was able to get something decent up and running in just a couple of hours. My only small gripe is that getting it into the Apple App Store seems pretty complex, which is a bummer.

Really solid app builder

I was looking for a free way to build a simple internal tool and Glide came up. I was a bit skeptical about the 'free' part, but the free tier is actually very usable for smaller projects. I've been using Glide Tables for my data, and its so easy to set up. I even browsed Excel Sync, but didnt need it for this project. Its not as robust as something like Bubble, but for what it does, it does it well and fast. Wish they had more promo codes but the free version is quite good value already.

Glide's free plan is super generous!

I was checking out Glide for a quick internal tool for my team, and I gotta say, their free plan is really impressive. I was worried about user limits, but it supports up to 25 users which is way more than enough for what I needed right now. It connects easily to Airtable too, which is a huge plus since thats where all our data lives. Other platforms like Bubble or Adalo often limit you much sooner. Its great that I dont have to worry about promo codes or anything just to get started. Saved me about $29 a month compared to what I might have paid elsewhere.

Glide is pretty sweet for quick apps

Compared to something like Bubble, Glide is way faster to get an app going, especially with the Google Sheets Sync. I used the Image Picker for a little inventory project and it worked great. My only tiny gripe is I wish they offered more promo codes, but otherwise, it's a solid 4 stars from me!

Glide is fantastic for Field Service Apps!

Yesterday, I used Glide to build a Field Service App and it's so quick, though I wish promo codes were easier to find! Definitely recommending it to everyone!

Good, but wish bigquery was easier

compared to softr, glide definitely feels more polished for apps. the Chart Component is super easy to get working and looks good. i was hoping the bigquery integration would be more straightforward, but it felt a bit clunky to set up. for a free tier, it's awesome, but some of the paid features like direct BigQuery access could use some streamlining. overall, a solid platform. 📈

Thinking of building an internal tool for inventory management with Glide. Anyone used it for something similar?

R RahulK 1 month ago
Yeah, we built a simple inventory tracker with Glide Tables. It's surprisingly good for basic stuff. The barcode scanner integration was a lifesaver for stock-in/stock-out.

P Priya 1 month ago
Did you link it to Google Sheets?

D Deepak91 1 month ago
How many items are you tracking roughly?

S Sanjay 1 month ago
We tried, but for complex inventory with multiple warehouses and detailed reporting, it felt a bit limiting after a while. For a small business, it's great, but scaling can be a challenge.

T techfreak 1 month ago
Curious about the scaling part too.

What kind of limits did you hit?

We use it for tracking IT assets, not inventory per se, but similar concept. Works well for us, especially with the user authentication and role-based access. Keeps things organized.

That's a good idea.

Does anyone know if Glide is really better than Bubble? I'm torn between the two for a customer portal project and trying to decide.

J Julia Vargas 1 month ago
Depends on what you need. Glide is way faster to get up and running if you're pulling from sheets or Airtable. Bubble is more powerful for complex logic but has a steeper learning curve.
3
C Colin 1 month ago
I've used both. For a customer portal with existing data, Glide is probably quicker to build. Bubble gives you more customization but takes longer.

Are there any discounts for non-profits? My organization is looking into using it for some internal tools.

A Amber 1 month ago
I think they do have something for non-profits. You usually have to contact their sales team or check their help docs for the specific program.
3
W Wendy Hughes 1 month ago
Yes, they do offer special pricing for non-profits! I'd suggest reaching out to their support or checking the pricing page directly, as it's not always a public promo code.

My annual Glide Pro plan just renewed, and the price was higher than last year. Did anyone else notice this?

S Sneha22 1 week ago
I'm still on the free plan, so no direct experience, but I heard from a friend that if you opt for annual billing, you usually get a discount compared to monthly. Did you switch from monthly to annual?
5
A AmitM 1 week ago
No, I've always been annual. It's definitely higher than last year's annual rate.

I got a notification about some pricing adjustments a few months back. I think they updated their plans. Best to check the pricing page.

i heard about a discount for annual billing, how much does that usually save you? trying to plan out my budget.

P Phil Silva 2 months ago
It's usually around 20% if you switch from monthly to annual. Definitely worth it if you plan on sticking with them for a while.
5
A Amber 1 month ago
Yeah, I saved a good chunk by going annual. You automatically get the discount when you select that option during checkout, no promo code needed afaik.

Can you actually publish apps built with Glide to the app store, or is it just like a web app link?

R Raj 2 months ago
They're primarily web apps, not native ones you'd find on the App Store or Google Play. You'd share a link for people to access it.
5
T Troy 2 months ago
No, not like a traditional app store app. It's more of a PWA (progressive web app) that users can save to their home screen on mobile. Works great though!

Thinking of trying Glide for a small internal tool, but is the free plan actually useful or super limited? Don't wanna commit if it's basically a demo.

C Chris Nguyen 2 months ago
Yeah, the free plan is pretty good for basic stuff. You can build quite a bit before you hit the limits. I made a simple inventory tracker with it and it worked fine.
3
K Kate Whitfield 2 months ago
It's decent to get started. You get like 3 editors and 500 rows of data, which is enough to play around and see if it fits your needs. Just don't expect to run a whole business on it right away.

what about connecting to something like sql server or bigquery? is that easy to do or super complicated?

S Steve S. 1 month ago
They have direct integrations for BigQuery, and you can connect to SQL Server too. It's usually pretty straightforward, they have good guides.
4
M Mike 1 month ago
Yep, my team connects to BigQuery all the time. It's not too bad, just follow their documentation. Makes it super easy to build dashboards off that data.
